Summary: Google is reportedly mulling over buying a minority stake in Virgin Galactic.The acquisition will be a part of Google’s larger move in the aerospace industry.Google Maps can become much bigger than anyone has imagined, impacting the decision making of individuals and businesses.

Last year, Google (GOOG) (GOOGL) launched "Project Loon" through which the company used air balloons to provide internet access to billions living in remote or rural areas. One of its balloons, the Ibis-167, has been around the world in just 22 days. Google is now working on other balloons that can float for more than 100 days.

Google Is Reportedly Mulling Expansion In Outer Space

Google is reportedly working to acquire Skybox Imaging as it continues to find ways to diversify its revenue base. Skybox builds microsatellites that capture high resolution images and high definition videos. Through this acquisition, Google could enhance its product offerings in Google Maps. 

Google (GOOG) (GOOGL) has made some big moves over the last few months. The company sold Motorola to Lenovo for $2.9 billion in a cash and stock deal and acquired the smart thermostat maker nest for $3.2 billion. The technology behemoth is reportedly getting close to another massive acquisition that could take it to outer space.
